Jin-shi-panting Group was an unprecedented panting group that rose abruptly in Late Qing Dynasty impacted by the practice of the study of inscriptions on ancient bronzes, stone tablets and epigraphy, of which the representative painters were ZhaoZhiqian and WuChangshuo. Its appearance has had a far-reaching influence on the later ages and has been taking a very important position in the Chinese painting history.The main achievement of this painting group was embodied in the creation of paintings of flowers and birds of Chinese style. Characteristics in painting style of such paintings was that the ways of using Chinese-brush in calligraphy and the tastes of seal-cutting were made use of in painting and therefore such paintings looked antique,clumsy and magnificent, and, heavy and thick in ink.This body is divided into five chapters. The first chapter explains the concept of the Epigraphic painting school, and from social and political backgrounds and cultural background of the two factors to introduce metal and stone painting school. chapter II on from germination stage, maturity, and peak period three stages to broad stone painting school development, and at all stages of a representative character, respectively, from the biographies, modelled after the Yuan flow and artistic achievement of several areas. chapter III given mainly by the Golden flavor "(" Golden stone gas ") and its embodiment of the spirit, combined with some work to illustrate the stone flower and bird painting of the aesthetic characteristics of painting and artistic style, that is, the male half of strong manly, dimness, Shigeru guzhuo. This aesthetic features and style comes from the Epigraphic inscriptions, is a human and a combination of heavenly born; chapter IV will send flowers along with traditional literati painting compared, from the aesthetic nature, modeling viewpoints and aesthetic requirements of several aspects of its traditional inheritance. Jinshi painting school of painting from essentially whatever belongs to the category of literati painting, is a traditional literati painting the evolution of the internal development of regularity. Chapter 5 the discussion on stone painting school influence and significance of bird and flower painting. Jinshi painting school of painting is not only rich and developed the Chinese painting of aesthetics, but also enhance the aesthetic value of painting. The late Qing dynasty painting, metal and stone painting school leads a mainstream aesthetic, to Shanghai. So after the 20th century, on painting in the pursuit of the Epigraphic gas and began painting style has become a leisure, or even legitimate.It was the appearance of this group that reversed the trend of gentle and ostentatious painting style which was caused by the declination of the so-called orthodox party and personality school, and meanwhile initiated a new painting style of freehand flowers and birds in Late Qing Dynasty.This dissertation expounds the arising and development of the Jin-shi group from three periods of it:embryonic period, mature period and summit period. It also analyzes the construction and orientation of the expressing language of this group by discussing the development and changes of the painting subjects, painting expressions, aesthetic pursuits and painting skills of the group. That will surely help us correctly recognize the position and importance of Jin-shi painting group in the Chinese painting history, which is correspondingly of sense for us to understand the history of Chinese flower and bird paintings and furthermore to probe into the law of developing Chinese flower and bird paintings.The art pursuits of Jin-shi group and their spirit of finding nutrient for their art creativeness will without doubt provide mental nutrition and enlightening effect for the creation of flower and birds painting, and thus will be of practical significance.
