A Study Of Dylan Thomas' Eco-consciousness

As a Welsh poet in the 20th century, Dylan Thomas plays a very important role in the development of English poetry, whose poetry sweep away the rational realism style of the 30-40 years'British Poetry, focus on the sensory perception and the spiritual experience.Thomas's poetry inherits the tradition of English Romantic poetry to concern about nature and express nature, and ponder over the ecological balance from human and nature.This thesis aims to study the ecological consciousness of Thomas poetry. This thesis has been divided into three parts, according to the following principles and elements:The first part illustrates the Green World on Eco-consciousness by the analysis of green image of Thomas's nature poetry;The second part explores the life and death theme of Thomas's poetry from the connection between bird images and human being;The third part interprets Thomas holism, harmony and justice ecological concepts based on the analysis of poetry and techniques.
