Research On Coherence Of Foreign Trade Discourse From Cognitive Linguistics

This dissertation analyzes the coherence of foreign trade discourse from some related cognitive theories based on cognitive linguistics. Foreign trade discourses are special and worthy to be studied, especially from cognitive angle. From this point, foreign trade discourses will be understood better, and at the same time the important role of cognitive linguistics in discourse analysis will be strengthened. Cognitive-world approach, dynamic analysis method, topic-dominating discourse coherence, embodied view and interactionism, metaphor and metonymy, relevance theory and encyclopaedia view, and so on, will be used to study the corpus systematically and the advantages will be laid out. It is hoped that the result of the research will enrich the theory of cognitive linguistics and discourse analysis, thus providing a new way for people to analyze foreign trade discourse from various angles.
