Pattern is a kind of highly ornamental art form which plays a very important role in fashion design. At present, people prefer personalized fashion which could be fully met by the flexibility from pattern design. Pattern design's application is getting more and more popular.In line with teaching requirement and our specialized courses'characteristics, a reform on basic courses is proposed. That is to integrate color composition and fashion pattern into a new basic course Fashion Color and Pattern. The new course may work as a kind of bridge between basic courses and specialized courses. Though as a basic course, it plays an important role in fashion design study.Although the reform could meet the demand of fashion design study, basic courses would come apart with specialized courses and there would be no continuity while the courses are over, basic courses could not fully support specialized courses. This dissertation tries to analyze on the approach of putting color and pattern design directly into the study of specialized courses and it's application on Fashion design, fashion technique, fashion structure and even on the final design on the basis of fully understanding of the main contents of the above courses. With the assistance of abundant teaching activities, the dissertation thus helps people's understanding of basic courses by expounding the importance of color and pattern design in detail. And by doing so, not only does it help broaden fashion design's presentation, and provide certain theoretical ground for color and pattern development and application in fashion design, but also play an promoting role in the blending of basic courses and specialized courses...
