| This thesis analyzes Mongolian names'characteristics and transformation from the aspects of history, linguistics, culture, and social psychology of Naiman Banner's people, with the techniques of comparison, data statistics and interview. This thesis consists of six parts, including introduction, chapter one, chapter two, chapter three, conclusion and references.The Introduction briefly introduces the importance of selected topic of the thesis, research technique, the source of material and an overview of previous researches.Chapter One elaborates the relation of names and anthroponymy, as well as the relation of names and society.Chapter Two introduces the situation of Naiman Banner's formation and analyzed NaiMan Banner Mongolian people's characteristics of names, from the view of meanings, structure, frequency, the method of naming and sex of the name.Chapter Three analyzes the names'transformation of Mongolian people in Naiman Banner and discuss the reasons.The conclusion summarizes the research of this thesis.
