The Technical And Non-technical Aspects Of Bel Canto Tenor Learning

The tenor, the treble is difficult. this is an acknowledged fact in vocal music field. Meanwhile, however, the tenor is also the most magnificent, charming and exciting musical part. Especially when we listen to some of the Chinese and foreign famous tenor singers singing, their attractive timbre, rich sympathetic chord, clear enunciating with rich metal color and the penetrating power of treble makes us full of passion. But many tenor learners can obtain easily. It needs a long time scientific method training and hardworking exercise. However, many tenor learners hope to seek a shortcut path generally in the learning process. They has neglected some very important basic aspects, and didn't establish correct voice concept and esthetic view, therefore they get a detours path in the learning process, "wasted effort"; Even worse, they works just the opposite, more works receive less.The author started from 1998 to learn the vocal music. In 2000, he entered the final exams of Henan University Art academy to study till 2004. During a long time, he learnt one-sided and made the fatal mistakes in Bel Canto vocal music learning. Till the second half of 2005, he followed the Associate Professor Lu Chang to study Bel Canto systematically and then started to understand it more deeply; In 2007 he was admitted to the Shanxi University Conservatory to enter the graduate student learning phase again to the present, nearly 5 years. During this period, the teacher adopted the method of correcting the problems while promoting the ability. Under the teacher's strict request and the tender guidance, my competence level had a considerable progress. I also understand the concept of voice in the singing rules, particularly aimed at some important technical links which must be paid attention in the learning process.As a post-graduated student who is major in Bel Canto, he must understand and grasp more vocal music history, therefore this article obtains from the development of Bel Canto through the analysis of the technical features of Bel Canto, the tenor musical part's characteristics and the types, then talks about the correct voice concept of tenor vocal establishment and through this concept takes some technical training. And during the training, some crucial technical aspects should be paid attention by tenor learners. The vocal music is a perfect combination of the sound production technology and the artistic performance. Therefore in the last chapter of this article, the author talks about some non-technical aspects which should be paid attention by the tenor learners in the learning process.The introduction mainly elaborated the discussion of the research purpose and the significance, the domestic and foreign study of research, content and the methods.The first chapter: Elaborated the developmental history of Bel Canto, and introduced the voice characteristic and technical characteristic of Bel Canto.The second chapter: Briefly introduced the definition, voice characteristics and types of tenors.The third chapter: Proposed that the tenor should first establish a good voice concept in the learning process and discussed it from three aspects which are the significance of correct establishment of voice concept, what kind of voice concept should be established and the importance of keeping renewing and keeping abreast of times.The fourth chapter: This part is the key point of this article's elaboration. The author discussed the important technical aspects which should be paid attention by tenor learners from seven aspects. They are:Establishing good musical instrument is the foundation of singing; Establishing a good and stable alto and base voice is the basic condition of good treble; Artfully singing the transitional voice is the only path to approaching the good treble; Skillfully using "head cavity " to sing treble; singing is a feeling more than auditory training; focus on the whole condition of singing; Vocal learning should follow a gradual, pragmatic approach. The fifth chapter: In this chapter, the author discussed from Singing should be handled properly in the relationship between singing technique and artistic expression; Vocal Performance should grasp the content, style and artistic characteristics of work; Vocal learning needs a good sense of music; The Importance of Vocal Learning is comprehension.The conclusion synthetically summed up the major point of this thesis.
