As the central organization for coordinating regional protest activities, Student Nonviolent Coordination Committee(SNCC) was born in the protest wave of Greensboro Sit-in of North Carolina in America at early 1960s.At its founding stage, SNCC claimed that it will take the Nonviolent struggle thoughts as the principle of its activities in its founding statements. SNCC has been involved successively in all kinds of Nonviolent struggle activities such as Freedom Ride, Voter Registration, establishing Freedom School, seting up the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party which challenges the regular Democratic Party in the National Democratic Convention.In the middle of 1960s, SNCC labelled its thoughts as "Black Power" which advocats the violence struggle, excluded the white member of SNCC, alienated the relationship with the orther civil right organization,The dissertation includes three parts with introduction, the text, appendix.,in which the text is divided into three chapters.The introduction studies at first the theme significance of the thesis, and then review the achievement and the present research situation of this subject home and abroad. On the basis of that explain the study field and research methods.Chapter one introduces the background of the founding stage of SNCC in the 1960s and studies the purpose declaration concering Nonviolence activities. The main content includes the initial activities and its significance of SNCC under the direction of Nonviolence thoughts, founding statement and its theme, condition Concerning oganization structure, become more and more radicalization, so as to withdraw from the histroy stage for divorce the reality of civil right movement.Chapter two studies selectively the situation of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party surpported by SNCC challenging the regular Democratic Party, This chapter also discusses the inner relationship between "Black Power" brought out by Stokely Carmichael and the compelete transformation of SNCC. the main content includes the reason analsis of failure challenging of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, stokely carmichael"Black Power" thoughts, "Black Power" 'impact on the radical of SNCC.Chapter three studies the inner paradox between the black and white as well as the transformation of the oganization structure. The main content includes the situation and the reason of the radical black excluded the white inside the SNCC. Collected and analyzed the activities of promoting "black power" as well as provoking violence created by Stokely Carmichael and H. Rap Brown, and then studies the reasons of the disintegration of SNCC.The last part sums up the inner factor of SNCC which from Nonviolence to propagating the "Black Power" and to advocating violence.
