Discourse markers is a common phenomenon in oral communication, in this paper, based on the full absorption of previous research, we will make a study of multiple perspective of function on the Inferential discourse marker "Ni-kan". The full text is divided into six chapters:Chapterâ… , overview. Combing the discourse markers in history, summing up the present research of "Ni-kan", and presenting the contents of this study, theories and methods.Chapterâ…¡, the definition of discourse markers. The function of discourse markers include textual coherence function and cognitive associating function. In this way, discourse markers can be defined as a sort of pragmatic ingredients which play a link role and determine the mood. According to the connection relationships between discourse and discourse markers, it can be divided into Bridging discourse markers,Transforming discourse markers,Origining discourse markers,Noting discourse markers,Cntrastive discourse markers,Asessment discourse markers.Inferential discourse markers and Complementary discourse markers.Chapterâ…¢, the textual coherence function of Inferential discourse markers "Ni-kan". From the functional perspective, discourse markers "Ni-kan" and the true semantics verb, cognitive modality are quite different. From the perspective of discourse, there're mainly related to three structural components:"Ni-kan", S1--the speaker's view, S2--the reason that speaker use to prove his view, in the discourse these three components reflect six patterns of utilization:S1+"Ni-kan"+S2, "Ni-kan"+S2+S1, S2+"Ni-kan"+S1, "Ni-kan"+S1+S2, "Ni-kan"+S1, "Ni-kan"+S2.Chapter IV, the cognitive associating function of Inferential discourse markers "Ni-kan". Speaker uses "Ni-kan" to cite the best proof of his view, and guides hearer to understand and accept his view. The cognitive associating function appear as four general-types, eight fine-types:Discourse tips (suggest a new turn, suggest a new topic), discourse highlight (stress basis, stress results), Interactive cognition (tell, identity), negative attitude (rebuke, ridicule). Chapterâ…¤, Other variations of discourse Markers "Ni-kan" and the form motivation of "Ni-kan". Its variants include overlapping forms of "Ni-kan", "Ni-kan+pronoun", "Ni+Negatives+kan." The first two mainly show up a negative attitude; the pragmatic function of "Ni-bu-kan" and "Ni-mei-kan" play a role similarly to "Ni-kan"; "Ni-bie-kan" marks a surprise of communicators. Subjectivity is the main driving forces for formation of discourse markers "Ni-kan", reprensenting the speaker's emotion,perspective and congniton.Chapterâ…¥, conclusion. To sum up the contents of this study research's value, and the problems remain to be solved.
