Interpretation Of The Semiotics Of Mudan's Poetry

Mudan is "the pioneer of Chinese modern poetry". He is not only "the first-rate poetry, and also the top-ranking poet". He has had the solid foundation of Chinese classical literature, has been affected by Chinese modern poetry and Chinese early symbolism in some respects, has taken example audaciously by the poetry's presentation techniques of the poets of the Romantic movement and modernism, has expand the new poetry's expression range and strength and has created a new situation of Chinese modern poetry, so Mudan has been enjoying a prominent position in the history of Chinese modern poetry. His poetry, which has sharp images, rich implication and has possesses the broad explanation space and dark speculation and philosophy, has inspired people deeply and given us infinite art enjoyment. Because of it, the explanations and evaluations of Mudan's poetry have been widely divided. The thesis is mainly discussed how to explain his works scientifically, realize his creation's broad explanation space, excavate the connotation of the symbols in his text and reduce the misunderstanding of his poetry. It has rich modernistic color with profound expressive force, and its text has the rich artistic effects. Only if taking the text as the object of study and reconstruct the linguistic code system's notional institution, mechanism of the poetry, the nearly infinite meaning in his creation has been possible to be analyzed and discussed deeply. As a research methodology of the humanities, Semiotics which originated in Nineteenth Century is one of the effective academic weapon to solve the problem. Based on the theories of Saussure, Roland Barthes, Arne Jacobsen, Lotman, Umberto Eco, etc, the thesis attempted to explain Mudan's poetry by using Semiotics from the aspects of word form, semantics and pragmatics, analyzed deeply the linguistic code system's notional institution of his text and interpreted Mudan's poetry scientifically and soundly. The distinguishing features of his poetry's artistic expressiveness in signifier and signified, the incomparable riches of connotation in his poetry have been set off vividly from the interpretation of the semiotics, especially the explanation of his representative works "Poems". The poetry would be with more fascinating charm of art and more unvarying artistic value by following the new academic weapon.
