The Emperor of Roman Empire, Nero, was the last monarch of Julio-Claudian dynasty, and his death ended the family of Augustus in Rome's rule. This thesis tries to clarify the important events in Nero's life, and what he endured in the process of trial and his share of the Empire's position, with historical perspective to assess the life of Nero. Claudius dynasty's demise should be recognized because the Empire did not inherit the throne to establish a stable system, which is Claudius dynasty toward the main causes of extinction, Nero's rule just accelerated its demise.This thesis is divided into four parts:Part one mainly explains Julio-Claudian dynasty succession system. It introduces the establishment of Principatus of the system by Octavian, Nero to the throne of the processes.Part two probes into Nero's rule. Nero's rule is to accept the mother's tutelage from the start, began soon after the power struggle between mother and son battle. Mother and son battle ended in victory for Nero, but it also was opposed to Nero were provided with excellent excuse. During this period, Nero was not only handled the relationship with the Senate, also try to curry favor with the military to get loyalty. The consolidation of the frontier, the recovery of the British part of the territory, dividing the eastern frontier region, maintaining a long-term stability.Part three mainly aspects of social life to reflect Nero's fall and corruption. Luxury Nero's life is part of the whole empire, culture, his art is too rigid and senate gradually led to its alienation.Part four researchs into Claudius dynasty to perish. AD.64 years, The Great Fire destroyed the Roman city and also the last point to the glorious image of Nero burned, Nero lost people's trust and support, who were suspected as arson, Nero's rule was difficult to maintain, failure has become a foregone conclusion.
