Research On The Art Of Decorations Of The Buiding Elevation Of Kaiping Diaolou

Kaiping Diaolou building,distributed allover the areal of kaiping,the hometown of overseas Chinese in guangdong province(Kaiping,Xinhui,Taishan,Heshan,Enping),where has clear charaters of overseas Chinese regional architecture. Kaiping Diaolou building started from later stage of Ming Dynasty,developed during Qing Dynasty and stopped in1949.They are creatures of the long time of unrest and the thriving immigrant culture and they have the purpose of defense and dwelling.They are the multiple-story tower-house for the blends both Chinese and wesern traditional architecture charaters.Researches of Kaiping Diaolou have made great progress in the history of overseas Chinese, history of architecture,and how to use and protect the building.Based on a large number of field work and in eyes of art and design,the writer try to do some research about the decorative art of the elevation of Kaiping Diaolou and the article value of the diaolou. First, the thesis tries to introduce Kaiping Diaolou's back grounds about history and sociaty,it's start,development and designer. Second, it also tries to introduce the whole shap of the elevation of Kaiping Diaolou,and analyse the cause of its'formation. Besides, it tries to divide diaolou into roof,middle part and facade to introduce the decorative art and art value of the elevation of Kaiping Diaolou. And then, made an analysis on the elevation of Kaiping Diaolou through the comparisons with Lingnan regional dwellings ,traditional Chinese diaolou. Finally,it tries tosummarize the experiences and inspire that Kaiping Diaolou gives us about absorbing foreigen culture.
