As the core of the personality development, self-concept plays an important role in adjusting and indicating to one's behavior, and has a close relationship with the development of one's character and the social perfections. It is regarded as the media variable that can realize one of the other aims---academic achievement. Many psychologists in the world began to pay much attention on the self-concept and its correlated factors-academic achievements, and have made a large number of experiments and research on theories. Because of the different areas, different history and culture background, different objects and different measuring means used by psychologists, they have got different consequences. There is one identical idea shows that academic self-concept is different from the non-academic self–concept, and it is correlated with academic behaviors and academic achievements, and it is the sensitive factor of predicting personal academic achievements. While there are a lot of arguments on the relationships between non-academic self-concept and academic achievement around the psychological world.This study focuses on the relationships of non-academic self-concept, academic self-concept and academic achievements for vocational police college students, wherein the characteristics of the development of self-concept and academic self-concept are discussed. The conclusions of this study are summarized as follow:1 The total mean of the non-academic self-concept is 3.00,which is equal to the middle range. From the five domains of the non-academic self-concept, the mean of moral self-concept is 4.06,which is higher than the middle range. The means of three domains are lower than the middle range. Moral self-concept is positively correlated with academic achievement(p<0.01)。psychology self-concept and physical self-concept are positively correlated with academic achievement(p<0.05). Social self-concept and family self-concept are not correlated with academic achievements.2 The total mean of the academic self-concept is 3.63,which is a little higher than the middle one. Academic ability and academic experience are positively correlated with academic achievements(p < 0.01),academic behavior is positively correlated with achievement(p<0.05),academic success is not correlated with academic achievement.3 Between the nonacademic self-concept and academic self-concept, moral self concept is positively correlated with the each domain of academic self-concept(p<0.01),family self-concept is negatively correlated with each domain of academic concept, physical self-concept is positively correlated with academic ability and academic experience(p<0.01,p<0.05).While psychological self-concept and social self-concept are not correlated with any domain of academic self-concept.
