Research On The Intonation In Chorus

Intonation, as the most basic and important aspect in today's Solfeggio teaching, supports a number of important knowledge points in the whole of music theory. As the intonation in chorus, it is the cornerstone of all music theories and musical activities. Nowadays, Choral cause is in a rapid development, with novel and diversified styles, but the intonation problem hasn't been well solved which is the most important problem in chorus. Intonation determines the whole effect of chorus. So, it is imperative to solve the intonation problem in chorus.The contents of this paper are as followings: The first chapter, the conceptual problem of intonation in musical theory, influencing factors of intonation, intonation types, and the role of intonation.The second chapter, analysis and elaboration of choral intonation, including: current status analysis of chorus, the basic conditions for choir to obtain good intonation, the features of intonation in chorus, types of choral intonation, and the important role of intonation in chorus.The third chapter, analysis and elaboration of ways to improve choral intonation. Including: improving musical qualities of chorus command himself; training method starting from listening and combining with singing more; the arrangements of chorus formation, vertical and horizontal intonation training methods, musical instruments and Movable Do System supporting methods, training of improving the mode and tonality feelings of chorus members and the chorus command himself. This paper raised some influencing factors of choral intonation, including: speed, rhythm, intensity, tone zone, mode, tonality and so on, analyzed and explored the factors above through some examples. The author put forward some methods and ways to solve the choral intonation problem in the problem analysis process. He divided the choral intonation into two kinds: one is Melodic Intonation, the other is Harmonic Intonation. Melodic Intonation was analyzed from the intonation between every pitch and the intonation of whole melody direction the two aspects. Harmonic Intonation was discussed the skills from how to carry a tune and how to show the chords'essences. This part has discussed and analyzed deeply on influencing factors of intonation, Melodic Intonation and Harmonic Intonation.The innovation of this paper is raising some musical theory problems of choral intonation, putting forward some methods to improve choral intonation, some of which are personal opinions, such as the arrangement of chorus formation and the relations of Melodic Intonation and Harmonic Intonation. The important role of choral intonation was summarized. Solving this problem has both theoretical and practical significances.
