In the early 1980s, the sudden emergence of the "Western Poetic Group" in western China, with the most ethnic and regional features, injected the contemporary Chinese poetry with magnificent style. Among many western poets, Chang Yao and Yang Mu are quite unique and highly representative as well. They are one of the most influential poets among the western poets and even contemporary Chinese poets. This article will attempt to discuss the performance of Chang Yao and Yang Mu's poetry in terms of poetics from the ideological content of the poetry in the west and the context of contemporary poetry, and by comparing Chang Yao and Yang Mu's poetry, further explore the special value of the two poets'poetry, as well as the significance of it to the development of the western poetry and even the contemporary Chinese poetry.The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part, the characteristics and style of the west "Wind Song" will be explained from the three aspects of life performance, the ethos, and the poetic construction of the New-time West "Wind Song". The second part, the ideological content of Changyao's poetry will be summarized from the three aspects of the realization of the unique vitality and expansion of Changyao's poems, and the tragic sense of the way to Salvation, and through the analysis of the poetic language and imagery of the two aspects, testifying the unfamiliarity poetic performance of Changyao's poems. The third part discusses the creative transformation of Yang Mu's poems from "passionate emotion" to "long-tune pastoral" and the artistic performance of fuzzy aesthetic expression and the characteristics of his poems. The fourth part, on the basis of the general comparison between Chang Yao and Yang Mu's poetry, the value and significance of Chang Yao and Yang Mu's poems to the western poetry and Chinese contemporary poetry will be further revealed.
