First Exploration On French Colonization Effected Vietnam Culture

Vietnam is China's close neighbors, has a 2000 years intercourse history and special and complex relationship. Chinese ancient brilliant culture has had a profound impact on Vietnamese culture. But in modern times, French colonial Vietnam in the nineteenth century, the development of the Vietnamese culture has a huge impact, especially in today's culture of Vietnam.With the arrival of the colonists, the traditional culture and ideas being challenged, Eastern and Western culture in this collision, the Vietnamese culture took place radical change. Vietnamese culture during this period of change, on the understanding of Vietnamese culture today has a positive guidance.Culture is a broad concept, this article attempts to writing, education, religion, literature, and some representative point to study the development trend of Vietnamese culture. At the same time the formation of a national culture is a long process, this paper focuses on the French colonial to the dramatic changes brought by modern Vietnamese culture. Of two ways:on the one hand, the French cultural policy, the Vietnamese have forced indoctrination of Western colonial culture; on the other hand, with the awakening of nationalism in Vietnam, the face of diverse cultural, conscious choice and to choose to go exploring with a line of the nation's cultural development.
