Keyboard typing is the most common means of text input. As ideograph, Chinese characters are processed mainly in shape. However, the keyboard input, especially the Pinyin input method, has enhanced the process of voice of the characters. The difference in the input will lead to changes in cognition processing. In the first part of the experiment, all subjects were asked to complete an input test to verify their input speed. After that the subjects completed three sections presented by auditory. Then try to complete three same sections in visual presentation. Finally, they were required to recall all materials and entered the content. The results showed that in the alphabet input, the auditory presentation is better than the visual presentation significantly. The input and recall of materials are significant positively correlated with the difficulties of the materials. There is significant difference in the recall of certain words between auditory and visual presentation and among different materials. The high keyboard proficiency subjects showed better in the recall of materials than low proficiency subjects. As indicated, there are some special features in the process of keyboard typing, due to the characteristics in motor conditions, cognitive processing and attention allocation.
