The Study Of The Growth Of Urban Culture In The Period Of Rapid Urbanization

The road tolling system and relative theory in China came into being under the special condition that Urbanization has the greatest impaction on human society in the 20th century. In the beginning of this century, China has been going into the intermediate stage of the urbanization after the initial stage. Although there has been a remarkable success in the urban material development, the crisis in the development of culture has emerged and is going to increase soon. Culture has become the focus in recent years of all cities. Based on this background, the study of the growth of urban culture in the period of rapid urbanization has been raised.Base on the research of the compare within the processes of industrial urbanization of different western counties in 19th century, this paper will discuss some transitions including population, transformation of society, interspaces of city and the theories of urban planning that reflect the negative impact of city. These transitions were created in the enriched transformation of societies. This paper will analyze coupling effect between urbanized dynamic mechanism and dynamic mechanism of urban culture growth, and will also pointed out that the process of urbanization is not a fleeting process or either a return to traditional city. It only can be understood as a one kind of transformation of city life. This new way of urban life affect all aspects of the development of city, and also promote the urban culture into a new stage of growth.Within the framework of social science, the research in the paper is based on reading the literature and actual research and is using multi-course research method. By using a research method that mainly focusing on the historical and process oriented principal of western industrial cities, and a view that based on globalization and international comparative, the paper discuss the dynamic mechanism of growth of urban culture. Starting from the analysis of three typical cases in Xi'an, there will be a conclusion on the main characteristics of urban culture growth in Xi'an, in accordance with the cases study and compare on 'historical culture, pioneer culture, popular culture'.Last, there will be a conclusion of all the researches in this paper. The conclusion will give the major innovative idea and influences based on the above research context that'the growth of urban culture in the period of rapid urbanization', and will also forecast some future works.
