The Creations Features And Rendition Analysis Of Shang Deyi's Art Songs

Mr.Shang Deyi is a contemporary renowned Chinese and foreign composer,music educator in our country, he wrote many kinds of musical works and especiallyin the creations and research of art songs. Mr.Shang is good at absorbing and utilizingexcellent Western composition techniques and he is anchored in our country'straditional music cultures, mixing the Chinese and Western techniques, melody andnational societies, originally creating art works in the typical style and they possessgood features appeal to both refined and popular tastes.The aim of this paper is to study Mr.Shang Deyi's art songs mainly. Based onthe vocality learning and practicing performance these years, the author choseMr.Shang's some representative art songs as the analyzed blueprint to do preliminarysongs singing and his works'integral creation features analysis.This paper is composed of three chapters:In the Chapter 1, the author simply introduced Mr.Shang Deyi's life history,including his living period background and creative process of his music works. Thecreative process is divided into instrumental music part and vocal music part, thevocal music part is further divided into oloratura works and non-colorature worksand we mainly discussed from the two fields. The author hopes more people could befamiliar with Mr.Shang and his works and it is also prepared for the next chapter,which discusses his integral creation features.In the Chapter 2, the author overall analyzed the creation features of Mr.Shang'sart works from the subject selection, songs performance and the application ofvocalized and accompaniment texture, reaching four aspects: extensive creationsubjects, musical performance, personalized harmony, songs styles and techniques,plentiful accompaniment texture.In the Chapter 3, the author studied Mr.Shang's art works from singing. It canbe divided into art of language in singing and singing skills two parts. The author combined the language and skills problems in singing Mr.Shang's art works and discussed the two parts, for the language part, including the voice, intonation, accent and art style holding and proper emotional performance., for the singing skills, including the exiting onset, tremor, staccato, appoggiatura, martellato singing methods for his art songs. And the author hoped to provide some experience for the singers and explore a singing style which follows scientific traits and national characteristics for the Chinese art songs.In the last chapter, the author summarized the paper's views and presented his status and contribution in the creation of contemporary art songs. The author also pointed out the limitations in the paper and a deep desire, due to the limited requirements, the author only made brief summary for Mr.Shang's other musical genres including choral music and piano music, and wished the successors can make further research and discussion for these fields.
