Changes Of Design Thinking In The Different Modern Design Development Stages

Design thinking, an important link of design activities, is showing different characteristics in the different modern design development stages. Due to historical factors and objective conditions, design thinking develops uneven in china now. Currently, most design thinking in china is absorbing foreign design thinking directly, lacking of systematic research and rational planning. Therefore, it is more important to discuss the characteristics of design thinking in the different modern design development stages.This thesis uses theoretical research, case studies historical method and logic analysis method. Chapter 1 introduces the topics background and the significance of the thesis. Chapter 2 recounts some related concepts of design thinking. Chapter 3 concisely introduces the Enlightenment of modern design phase of the design thinking. Chapter 4 discusses the establishment of modern design and development stages of the design thinking. Chapter 5 discusses the social prosperity of design thinking in the modern stage. The last chapter concludes that people should pursuit human's genuine needs in the modern design process, design thinking should extricate itself from utilitarianism, instrumentalism and functionalism, achieve the unity of function and form, art and science, facts and values, traditions and innovations, human and the nature.Design thinking as the converging point of the scientific logical thinking and artistic thinking, is innovatively developed and shuttles all human activities. Therefore, the studies of design thinking in different modern design stages will contribute to promote the development of China's contemporary design thinking theory.
