historical researchers study the mid-tang literator Shen Yazhifocusing on his romantic novels, but ignoring the other works of Shen Yazhi.Thispaper works on the theory of Shen Yazhi's prose writing and the specific works toimprove the research of Shen Yazhi's prose to a certain extent.The existing prose works of Shen Yazhi have a variety of subjects, includingthe autobiographical notes,letter,preface,and political discourse,inscriptions,elegiacand so on. The purpose of this article is to categorize and study Shen Yazhi's proseworks to locate Shen Yazhi's prose style, combined with theoretical study of hisprose writing. As a result, it will be able to perfect the studies of Shen Yazhi's, andpush forward the research of Shen Yazhi in the present stage.This paper will study about the prose of Shen Yazhi from two parts:The first chapter, the theoretical study of Shen Yazhi's prose writing. ShenYazhi think that the article should not follow the beaten track and the authors shoulddevelop their creativity fully to explore bravely. This is his literature viewpoint in"Preface to send Han Jinglue".In addition, his literary theory can be found in"SendWang Chuanyi to mention about cursive writing","Reply to the Feng Tao'scorrespondence","Poem Preface to send scholar Li Jiao" ,"Preface to send DuHui"and so on.In the"The Literary Criticism History of Sui, Tang and FiveDynasties",Shen Yazhi's literary theory has been discussed in the section about theliterary criticism of classical writers and pioneer in the tang dynasty. This chapterwill research the close relationship between the Shen Yazhi's prose writing theoryand the literary movement advocated by Han Yu. The second Chapter, the research of Shen Yazhi's prose. Now we can see many prose in the collected works of Shen Yazhi such as autobiographical notes,letter,political discourse more than the poem which makes up a small part and the closely-watched romantic novels. It is not difficult to find that the majority works are prose in the twelve volume if we look at the collected works of Shen Yazhi.There will be a detailed study of Shen Yazhi's prose and sum up their artistic features. The specific characteristics of the performance of its prose are simple and concise, plain and simple language; short and compact, clever layout of the article structure; sincere feelings, reasonable and so on. We will research the features combined with the specific works which will be divided into letters, note, order, political discourse,miscellanie five parts.
