Philip Larkin was one of most important poets and keyman of Movement in Britain after The World War II.He objected poetics of Modernism and wanted to return to Hardy tradition to write one kind of new English poetry. As an result,he ended the rule of Modernism in Britain since the early twentieth century. This paper attempts to study Larkin's poetry, biography and related research, to figure out the relationship between poetry and experiences which plays an important role in the writing of Larkin. The introduction is about Philip Larkin's life and the bibliography, the state of research, the means of relationship between poetry and experience,as well as the overall structure of paper. The mainbody is divided into three parts. The first part is concerned with Philip Larkin's early poetry and his detached relationship between poetry and experiences. The second part is about his adjustments in response to this disconnect and the achievements. The third part is about the plight between poetry and experience. In conclusion, I review and summarize the main ideas and find that the most effective way of dealing with the relationship between poetry and experience is to write continually.
