Since the 20th century, the speed of urbanism is faster and faster. To address rural population constant demand for residential buildings and construction sites of tension, this paper analysis and research accounted for 84% of total land area of Yunnan, the mountains can be used as residential development of urban residents to use the relevant factors.As the Stereotyped modern residential buildings, traditional dwellings is the results of people on the local climate and other natural conditions of long-term adaptation. We can gain a lot from them that is significant to modern regional architecture. In this paper, historic Tuzhangfang of the Yi people in Yunnan Province is the object of study. Through field visits of collecting evidence, analysis of such a mountain residential housing sites, construction grounding and other characteristics, as well as analyzes such mountain homes on the local mountainous topography and climatic conditions of good adaptation. And focus on their creative the multi-level communication space of people, people and nature analysis.The significance of research on the features of traditional residential building in the field of how to deal with the relationship between human beings and environment,resources,has become a new research area. In addition, its rationality and ecological nature of construction materials and energy use is analyzed.
