Friendship is an important topic in the ethics of Aristotle. It is a very important virtue among the many of the Aristotle's ethics. Friendship is a virtue which is closely related with other people and society. Friendship not only is a tool, more importantly, it is intrinsic value, it is in itself for the purpose.The thesis is constituted of the foreword, main text and epilogue. The foreword is related to the of reason friendship. The body is divided into three parts; the first part was the definition of friendship from Aristotle. Aristotle elaborated on friendship from the various aspects in the eighth and ninth volume of Nicomachean Ethics. This section has a mind of preparing for the following. The second part is the relationship of friendship, reason and justice. Friendship contains the reason, while friendship promotes the fulfillment of reason fully. Friendship and justice are the very important two virtues in the Aristotle's ethics. Friendship and justice are concerned about the goods of other people, and they are significant to the city-state. The third section is related about status and significance of friendship in the Aristotle's ethics. Happiness is the final purpose of human being, and it is the highest goods. Friendship is the very important part of Aristotle's theory of the virtue and happiness. Friendship not only is important for happiness, and achieves the purpose of the city-state, it plays the role of bridge to connected Aristotle's ethics and politics. epilogue is my thought about friendship of Aristotle.
