Ian McEwan is one of the most acclaimed writers in British contemporary literature。"McEwan shows his unparalleled talent-whether in art, moral or intellectual, he has superior。"His work involves novel, drama, children's literature as well as opera and so on。In particular, his novels have been of great concern to the critics, but also brought him a lot of controversy, mainly because the theme of his early novels are ones of the sense of menance such as murder, violence, incest, etc。, so he won the nickname Ian Macabre from the critics。With the continuous development and mature of his literary creation , fiction has increasingly become the focus of his writing, and most of them are award-winning novels, so he won a widespread praise。With the writing style changes, McEwan no longer focuses on the manufacture of those "scare" tragic atmosphere, and begins to pay more attention to the inner world of ordinary people and emotional state。His realism narrative approach, combined with the performance of modernism shapes us a group of modern people of inner contradictions。This article researches McEwan's three novels: Atonement, Saturday and On Chesil Beach which were created after the new millennium。Throughout his creation a novel "non - satisfactory "in the story and characters complex inner world, combined with the author's own life experiences and creative experiences, explores the inner world of modern man's loneliness, confusion and regret, and tries to find the reasons for these problems。Full-text is divided into five parts。Introduction mainly describes the writer's life and creative situation, and starts from the current study situation and puts forward the innovations in this article。The first chapter is about novel Atonement, mainly researches the inner world of the hero Briony, combined with McEwan's own experience, discusses the emotional loneliness of the children who lack of parental care in the process of their growing up, as well as the manifestation of this loneliness。The second chapter is about novel Saturday, which explores the innner world of the hero Perowne and shows a mature middle -aged man's life trouble and his thinking on reason, morality and survival significance when facing of living crisis。The third chapter is about novel On Chesil Beach,exploring the views of two young people who grew up in a particular era on love, sex and marriage, and showing the typical inner world of a generation。Starting from the individual growth environment, McEwan takes us into the bottom of hero's heart,explores the meaning of life which is not satisfactory, and demonstrates a life picture of provoking。As a thesis of master, because of limited space, It doesn't contain all of the McEwan's novels。But I hope that through this article the people will know more about the McEwan and his creative ideas。And I also hope to provide Chinese readers a new perspective of reading, and some inspiration for further research about McEwan。...
