Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport——Exploration On Building And Upgrading Enterprise Core Competence

This article is written in the form of the case study. It aims to link the theory of the enterprise抯 core competence with Chinese large梥ized state enterprise reformation. It not only analyzes the enterprise them status quo in the theory of core competence, and directs to upgrade the core competence by the privatization process, but also expound and develop the theory in the enterprise reforming. The article includes two parts: the case and the case study. The case part analyses several important events in developing the core competence of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and raises existing problems embedded in the enterprise. The case study part summarizes the theory of the enterprise core competence and uses it to study the status of the Airport抯 core competence, its existing problem and reasons. Furthermore, it provides guidance for the airport how to build up core competence and to upgrade it by restructuring, merging and acquiring in the privatization process. The author hopes this practical experience can be used as reference in the privatization of Chinese enterprises.
