This article makes full use of the foreign enterprises' successful experiences in cultivating and developing the core competence, and systematically analyses the theories and practice of the core competence of enterprises in the western developed countries. Based on these, the article analyses and discusses the issue of the core competence of Chinese enterprises. During the writing, the author makes every effort to integrate theory with practice. First, the article sketchily reviews the formation and theoretical sources of the core competence of corporation. The author argues that strategic management theory, knowledge economic theory and innovation theory all contributed to the formation of the core competence theory. And then the author introduces the main contents of the core competence of corporation in detail, such as the concept, characteristics, component ports of the core competence of enterprise. Based on this, the article analyses the existing state and troubles of Chinese enterprises 'core competence, and also advances how to construct the mode of the core competence in Chinese enterprises. Finally, the author puts forward some proposals and countermeasures of how to construct and develop the core of competence of Chinese enterprises. The author hopes this article could be helpful to cultivate and develop the core competence of Chinese enterprises.Through analysing and discussing, the article draws the following conclusions:In knowledge economy times, because of the constantly emerging of tech-innovation, the market competitions are getting more intense than any time. In sharp market competitions, a corporation should cultivate and develop the core competitiveness of its own. The core competence of enterprise is the foundation of keeping competitive advantages for a long time. If an enterprise wants to raise the rate of market share of its products and services, only acquiring more competitive advantages than competitors in one aspect or some aspects can it be in an invincible position. By taking great efforts and drawing up the strategies fit for it. Chinese enterprises can rapidly build and develop the core competence of their own.
