| The implement of the Grand West Development strategy is a really good chance to advance the development of agriculture and the economic increase in middle and western regions. There are abundant agricultural resources in Xinjiang, which is a main yielding base of cotton, melon, fruit, sugar beet and livestock products. To transform these resources predominance into commercial and economic predominance, however, we have to develop the agricultural products processing industries.This paper aims to illuminate an efficient approach of improving the agricultural products processing industries by a simply model. Then it introduces the history and the present situation of the agricultural products processing industries in Xinjiang. By contrasting some important indexes it exposes some striking problems existing in the agricultural products processing industries, including small scale, low technological level, separated distribution and so on. At the same time, the paper analyses quantificationally the status of the agricultural products processing industries in Xinjiang, then points out the developing direction of the agricultural products processing industries, which is to adjust industrial structure and distribution, to enlarge the scale on the basis of the improvement of the technology and management, to promote the agricultural products processing industries in Xinjiang in the direction of refined processing and finish machining. At the end of the paper, it discusses the aims and the tentative plan for the development of weave and food industries, which have a certain industry predominance in Xinjiang, as well as the guiding principles and the overall countermeasures for the development of the agricultural products processing industries in Xinjiang.
