Researches On Construction Of Regional International Shipping Center In Port Of Dalian

With the development of economic and the deepening of the open policy, the ports of China have developed greatly whether in quantities or in quality, but the competition among the ports also becomes more and more serious. In North China, there are such competition among Dalian, Tianjin and Qingdao. How to survive in the competition and succeed in the end is a very important problem. For the ports, they should be very familiar with the surroundings, and make strategies according to their own conditions so as to foresee the future and make progresses. In this paper, firstly we will give a definition to the international shipping center. Then we will analyses the necessities for Dalian port to become one of the international shipping centers and its advantages and shortcomings. Next we will use the linear regression and the module to forecast the throughput of the Dalian port in the next five years. Finally we put forward the strategic plan and the corresponding tactics for Dalian port to become the regional shipping centers. In the end, we concluded that Dalian port can be and should become the regional shipping center, but there is still a long way to go. We should begin from improving the service, bettering the information network, and founding the formal shipping exchange center. More important, we should make full use of the free-trade area and make Dalian a real free-port and international trade center.
