The market data approach is one of the basic parcelland value methods and its application area is wider than any other method. The results got from the market data approach are very realistic and people would like to accept them. Now, because the means of data administration is very poor and some other reasons, the market data approach is scarcely used by land valuator. In this paper, the author analyzes the application actuality and difficulties of the market data approach, and try to overcome these difficulties. Then the author accomplishes applied geographical information system for the market data approach based on urban land grading and evaluation system, taking Nantong city as example, and has got anticipative purpose.With the help of Geographical Information System technology, the market date approach system includes computer setup, data structure, input/output system, spacial data management, user interface, and so on.Under the principles standardization, maturity, expansion and practicability, the system reaches automatization in value Nantong city parcelland.On the study of the market data approach system, the author expatiates his own opinion and lays stress on practice. The results of his study are as follows:1. With the software of geographical information system and the results of urban land grading and evaluation information system, the author has explored the market data approach system.2. The author finished the basic database construction of Nantong city, and put the system in use, which can be widely spread.
