An Analysis Of The Relation Between Deng Xiaoping And Transformation Of Contemporary China's Socialist Development

China has gone through several stages and as well as several transformations in the course of its development. It is generally believed that the Third Plenary session of the Eleventh Central Committee of Chinese communist Party,held at the end of 1978,symbolized the coining of the "Deng Xiaoping Era" and that the policy of economic reform and opening-up initiated by Deng has resulted in China's quick transformation into a socialist country with Chinese characteristics.Based on the great changes and prominent achievements China has scored since the Third Plenary session of the Eleventh Central Committee of Chinese communist Party,this article elaborates that Deng Xiaoping's theory is the cornerstone of the transformation of Chinese socialist development and that it is Deng who has successfully led China to achieve the following three great historic transformations.First:the transformation of the central task from class-struggle to economic construction. He furthermore teaches us that science and technology is the first and foremost productive forces in the process of the development of contemporary China.Second:the transformation from traditional planned economy system into socialist market economy system. This transformation has the most important and most profound significance because it concentrates three great social changes,that is market-orientation,modernization and the reform of socialism,into one era.Third:the transformation from a closed or semi-closed society into an open one. China has managed to make a great leap forward and then into a modern society by communicating with other countries of the world and this enables China to obtain tremendous amount of advanced technology and edge-cutting knowledge so that it can skip certain stages and leap into the modern society.This article evaluates and summarizes objectively the victories and setbacks in our history of socialism on the basis of Marxist attitude of seeking truth from facts. It expounds and proves that the development of Chinese socialism is a process of tortuous advance. And it points out that the development of the contemporary China's society shows a dual-feature of striding forward and transition as well as the characteristics of graduamess and protractedness. Judging from the successful practice of building up socialism with Chinese characteristics and the flourishing development of the contemporary China's society,it can be concluded that Chinese socialism has great vitality and an incomparably bright future.
