A Study Of The Ideology Of "Three Representations" And The Party Building In Institutions Of Higher Learning

The ideology of "Three Representations" summarized by Jiang Zemin expounds profoundly by using highly succinct language the most essential matter of what type of party the Chinese Communist Party wants to build itself into and how to build it in the new historical periods. Putting forward the ideology of "Three Representations" is of momentous political significance and theoretical significance because it is the basis of building our party, the foundation of implementing the Party's policies, and the source of the party's power, and even, the great guiding principle of the Party building in this new historical period. The Party building in institutions of higher learning is one indispensable part of the building of the Chinese Communist Party. The researches on the close relation between the ideology of "Three Representations" and the Party building in universities and colleges is of great benefit to our work in the new historical situations: practically, it is beneficial to the overall carrying out of the ideology of "Three Representations" in the Party building in universities and every field of our work; theoretically, it is beneficial to prometing the researches on the theories of the Party building in universities and ideological political education. The present dissertation is made up of three parts:Part One: In this part, the present dissertation elucidates that the ideology of "Three Representations" inherits, enriches and develops Marxist doctrines of the party building. Firstly, the present dissertation outlines the origins and processes of producing the thought of "Three Representations"; then, it gives a brief explanation of the scientific connotation of the thought of "Three Representations"; finally, it probes into the function of the thought of "Three Representations" in enriching and developing Marxist theory of party building in order to expound the theoretical and practical significance of the thought of "Three Representations" in terms of innovation.Part Two: In this part, the present dissertation elucidates that in the new situation theideology of "Three Representations". Have new requirements of the practice of party building in institutions of higher learning. This part is the focus of the whole dissertation. It begins with probing into the features of institutions of higher learning, together with elaborating the general features of the Party building of the Chinese Communist Party in the new era, in order to put the focus on discussing the features of the Party building in institutions of higher learning. As a result, it tries to lay a foundation for the linkup of the ideology of "Three Representations" and the Party building in institutions of higher learning, and tries to establish a link between implementing effectively the thought of "Three Representations" and the practice of the Party building in institutions of higher learning. Secondly, it emphasizes the researches of the status and role of the Party building in institutions of higher learning in implementing "representing the requirements of the development of advanced productive forces", and furthermore, how should the Party organization in universities put into effect the inea of "representing the requirements of the development of advanced productive forces". Thirdly, it discusses the status and function of the Party building in institutions of higher learning in "representing the directions of development of advanced culture", and furthermore, how should the party organization in institutions of higher learning ensure the higher education to develop in correspondence with the direction of advanced culture. Fourthly, it studies the significance, ways and measures of the Party organization in universities and colleges to "represent the fundamental benefits of the greatest majority of the public".Part Three: In this part, the present dissertation discusses how to strengthen and enhance the Party building in institutions of higher learning in accordance with the requirements of "Three Representations".
