With the great change of international environment in the post-Cold War era, especially the former Soviet Union's disorganization and its main successor Russian's withdrawal in Africa, the importance of U.S. and French foreign policy toward Africa deserves more attention. As such, this article made some exploration and comparison on it from this angle. Starting with the introduction of U.S. and French foreign policy toward Africa, this article made the analysis respectively from three aspects: politics, economy and military affairs and compared the both systematically from three angles: national interest, economic development and internal factors. In the guidance of Marxism, this article, around the development of U.S. and French foreign policy toward Africa, made full analysis at large on their comparison both in the theory and practice. The related methodology includes comparative analysis, case studies and sample illustration.
