The Detailed Inquiry Of Philosophy About "Economic Man

"Economic man", as the theory premise and basic hypothesis of western orthodox economic, assumes that the basic motive power of personal act is to persue the maximizing of self interests and hold that man's economic activity is the act of pursuing the maximizing of interest rationally, while the free market-oriented economy based on this is the most efficient model to pursue the development of economy. The hypothesis and the deduction from it affect the economic process of almost every country. With the gradual establishment of the socialist market-oriented economic system, the hypothesis of "economic man" also becomes a tool for our native bachelor to explain people's behavior model in the functioning of market-oriented economy. The concept of "economic man" affirm the reasonableness of individual's pursuing the material interests. Then, it do previde us with a new perspective in explaining the motive of man, the relationship between individuals and the relationship between individuals and groups. But, the concept of "economic man", as a theory hypothesis transplanting from the west has its limitations in exsistance. So, making a detailed inquiry about the substance of the concept of "economic man" and the origin behind the appearance is significant for us when we want to find out the limitations and use it for reference rationally to analyze and demonstrate. This article take an emphasis on the following three aspects to analyze "economic man" : (1)the formation, meaning and limitations in use of the hypothesis——"economic man"; (2) the actual manifestation and origin of "economic man"; (3) to go beyond and develop "economic man".
