With the continuous advancement of reform and opening as well as rapid development of global economic unifying, the management environment has taken place great change and market competition also has been very keen. For the enterprise which wants to exist for long time and make further development to acquire sustainable competition advantage under such situation, the critical problem is to correctly evaluate, form & improve core competence(CC) that will make the enterprise be in a favorable position in future market competition. So the study connection with evaluation and improvement measure of CC has practical significance.After discussion of the definition of CC and other theory related, on the one hand, the factors affects CC is studied in this paper. Based on such study, a new theory is presented that CC is a system consists of technical innovation competence, market operation competence and organization & management competence. Then a full indictor system of CC evaluation is established. One the other hand, according to the analysis results of inner resource in Xibei Bearing Group Co.. LTD (Xibei Group) and bearing industry environment, comprehensive evaluation on CC of Xibei Group is made with the fuzzy evaluation model as well as two dimension analysis model. Effective approaches of forming & refining CC is also presented correspondency.This paper, taking Xibei Group as an object of study, discusses CC in detail using the method of quantitative & qualitative analysis, theory & practice analysis, enriches the theory related CC, establishes a set feasible indicator system of CC evaluation, presents some effective approaches to form & improve CC. The research conducts in this paper is also useful for other enterprises.
