So far as the enterprises are confronted with even more violent competition from a wider scope in the integrating world economy, the enterprise's logistics is regarded as the Third Source of Profits of enterprises and begins to play a more important role in the proper operation of enterprises. In order to hold a beneficial position in the world wide competition, the enterprises should have a better logistics management, which includes more development and better application of the information technology and electronic commerce.At the present stage, many enterprises have more or less employed a lot of new information technologies to strengthen the management of logistics, and gained some success. However, most of these achievements are limited due to the partial and far from complete management of logistics. To solve this problem, the present work analyzed the current situation of enterprise operation, proposed the idea of building up a logistics system based on supply chain, and designed an information system to support the management of logistics based on supply chain. The main contributions of this work as follows:1) Investigated the way of building up a logistics system based on supply chain through analyzing the current environment of all kinds of logistics and their patterns.2) Investigated the development of logistics information system based on supply chain, analyzed the advantages of Object-Oriented Programming, discussed the significance of J2EE platform, and realized the optimization logistics process based on supply chain.3) Developed the inventory management system, which will be taken as a main part of the logistics information system based on supply chain. The system suggested in this work was developed through J2EE platform with a distributed structure based on web. It caries out the systematization and optimization of logistics management based on supply chain.
