In the 1990s, the theoretical and applied research on Supply Chain Management (SCM) was developed very rapidly. Especially in recent years, SCM emphasizes the partnership between the companies in supply chain, which makes SCM be a management methodology from an activity management tool. As an advanced management idea and method, it has been put into practices by a great many multinational corporations and has improved their competences. The application of SCM would make a great deal more sense to Chinese enterprises.In the first, the thesis describes the primary ideas from the concept of Supply Chain and SCM. Moreover, the relationship between SCM and IT has been discussed. Then, the thesis analyzes the characteristics of Supply Chain Partnership (SCP) and discusses the influences that the core corporation has on SCP: Industry influences, R&D, Market share, Main product structure, Credit standing, Operating ideal and Financial status. Applying Principle-Agent theory, in the thesis a contract model was designed to discuss the share of venture and benefits between the partners. According to the model, trust and information sharing makes greater expectant benefits. Moreover, we discuss the importance and fostering mechanism of the trust. In the fourth section, after analyzing the basic procedures of partners' selection, the index system of the supply chain partners' selection is designed based on Time, Quality, Price and Service and a quantitative method is introduced. In the fifth section, the thesis studies three measures to improve the partnership: the procedure of establishing SCP, the measure of minimizing the Bull Effect and the strategy of purchasing based Supply Chain. They are also the three important aspects in SCM. At last, the thesis analyzes the SCM of ChangAn Automobile Company and put forward some improving measures based on SCM theory.
