Foreign trade is an important content of opening to the outside world. Mao Ze-dong's thought on foreign trade is also an essential part of the course of long-term revolution and construction, Mao combined the common truth of Marxism with china's concrete circumstances, continuously seeking after the law of china's foreign trade development, and finally formed opulent thought on foreign trade. This thesis will concisely discuss this thought from its development process, main content to its characteristics.The main contents of this thesis are as the following: Introduction: this subject's meanings both in theory and in practice Part I: the rough development process of Mao's thought on foreign trade. With the movement of time as its clue, this part will illustrate the historical evolution process of Mao's thought on foreign trade in four stages: germination, formation , improvement and circuitous development.Part II: Summarizations of the main contents of Mao's thought on foreign trade. These contents are as follows: (1) Foreign trade must be governed by the state. (2) Foreign trade should be equal, reciprocal and can meet each other's wants. (3) Foreign trade should be complementary while inner market should be primary. (4) Foreign trade should comedown to earth and do what is possible. (5) Foreign trade market should have a reasonable proportion, According to the analyses in five aspects mentioned above, this part will generalize the plentiful connotations of Mao's thought on foreign trade.PartIII: Analyses of the main characteristics of Mao's thought on foreign trade. Here are the three characteristics: (1) distinct feature of philosophy. (2) the mutual cooperation and promotion between diplomacy and foreign trade. (3) the profound embodiment of self-reliance thought. This part will expound emphatically the first characteristic from four perspectives: inner cause and external cause, theory of two points and theory of focus, theory of system and unity ofopposites, and will bring out the deep philosophy in Mao's thought on foreign trade.Conclusion: illustration of the following: positive influence of Mao's thought on foreign trade on china's foreign trade development, certain partial ideas of Mao's thought on foreign trade, and the enlightment of Mao's thought on foreign trade to today's foreign trade development.
