Mode Selection Of Chinese Dealing With Non-performing Assets Of Banks And It's Validity Analysis

Four AMCs have been established since 1999 to deal with the great non-performing assets (NPAs) of our commercial banks. In past three yeas, a series of problems encountered in operation were related with the theoretical shortage, and discussion and doubt on the rationality, validity and future prospect of AMC mode has affect current dealing and future possible "second peeling off " So research and exploration on the mode are very essential.This paper analyze from following four parts: Chapter 1, question about the rationality, validity and future prospect of AMC mode is put forward. Chapter 2, on the basis of bank restructuring theory, comparison is made among America, Japan, Poland and Malaysia, which are the typical cases in dealing with NPAs with different mode, and could supply us with more beneficial experience. Chapter 3, taking our actual condition into account, we have chosen AMC mode. But there are internal limitation of this mode and problems in operation. Chapter 4, a index system to balance the validity of AMC mode is firstly established, with it we get the conclusion: in dealing with NPAs, our AMC mode hasn't show its validity enough. This is because internal limitation and corresponding environment are far from perfect. We must take measures to transform the mode from administrative to commercial. At last, we put forward corresponding advices and concrete measures.
