Research On The Cost Management Of Geotechnical Investigation

Along with the increasing of national economy continuously in high speed in the last few years , the capital construction is in the booming development stage in our country. The scale of project is larger ,the scope is wider ,and the quantity is bigger. However, it is detected that the quality of some projects is not high. All kinds of quality troubles took place frequently. One of the major causes of the quality troubles is the inferior quality of the geotechnical investigation in some of the projects.And one of the causes of the cheesy geotechnical investigation is the unscientific cost management of geotechnical investigation. Comparing to the total investment of a project, it is indeed that the geotechnical investigation cost of the project is too low.Nevertheless, the quality of geotechnical investigation affects the accuracy of the construction decision and the veracity of a project's estimation. It affects the safety and the economy of a project in designe phase. As well, it affects the construction possibility for the project. In fine,it affects the successfully realizing of the economic, social and environment performances of the project. Therefore,it is necessary to have a further research in the cost management of the geotechnical investigation.Referring to a lot of theories and methods on project cost management and considering the characteristics of the geotechnical investigation,this thesis inquisites and analyzes the evolution of the geotechnical investigation cost management in our country.It analyzes and evaluates the importance of the cost management of the geotechnical investigation. Specially,it explores and researches the theories and methods on the geotechnical investigation cost management by means of theory demonstrating and demonstration analyzing.In order to manage the geotechnical investigation cost availably,the following standpoints are disscussed.It is necessary to manage the geotechnical investigation cost in the whole processes,total aspects and multiple layers. Namely, managing the geotechnical investigation cost is not only in the stage of bidding invitation and bidding ,but also in the process of undertaking and completion phase. The total aspects management means that the principal part of the management is comprehensive.The geotechnical investigation cost management concerns not only the client and investigator,but also the government, designer ,supervisor and contractor.When the investigator,client and other parties carry the micro-management of the geotechnical investigation cost intoexecution, the government's macroscopical management of the geotechnical investigation cost is essential.When bidding and bidding invitation for a geotechnical investigation ,it is needed that the investigation scheme should be optimized with the theory of Technology Economy and the methods of Value Engineering to reasonably reduce the geotechnical investigation cost.During the stages of undertaking and having finished the geotechnical investigation ,it is indispensable to analyze and control the geotechnical investigation cost with the theories and methods of Systems Engineering.Because of the data on the geotechnical investigation cost is the basis to evaluate the geotechnical investigation cost, both the government and the parties in construction should attach importance to accumulate,neaten and apply the data on the geotechnical investigation cost.
