On E-Government Construction In China's Administration Modernization

E-Government represents the modernization process of government administration. It has become an urgent constructive task of governments of all countries in the current information age, as for how to construct E-Government by using Internet technology, to practice electronic government affairs, and to improve administrative efficiency and managerial level in electronic and automatic methods. Our country defined year 1999 as Government Internet Year, targeting at fashioning "Electronic Government". E-Government is not only a fresh new concept, but also a new government administration mode and method. The construction of E-Government is related to technology but not limited to technology field, and has become an important part of the administration modernization construction of our government.As China has joined WTO and attention has been given to the latest development of E-Government at home and abroad, this article analyzed the achievements, problems and major difficulties of E-Government construction of our country in recent years, and raised the major countermeasures for the government to plan network construction and realize E-Government, which imposes realistic significance upon the government's promotion of administration reform and administration modernization.
