The studies on product warranty have developed very quickly in recent years. This is a powerful tool for enterprises to improve competence and develop market. Many foreign scholars have studied this problem from different subjects: Engineering, Management, Operation Research, Marketing, Economics, Law, Public Administration, Statistics, Accounting and Quality Control. Product warranty research have became an integrated system.However, few studies were focused on this problem in China. The only existent papers concerned large-scale space flight projects. No paper discussed the product warranty about manufacturing companies. This thesis describes the concept, function and main contents of product warranty; proposes the management mode of product warranty and the basic methods of warranty cost; and introduce their applications in product design. At last, the author brings forward the election and evaluation methods of warranty schemes.Firstly, this thesis redefines product warranty according to actual instance of China; proposes the main contents, mission and function of product warranty research; and presents the management mode of enterprises' product warranty.Secondly, this thesis introduces the basic model of product warranty cost analysis. Warranty cost evaluation methods based on statistics and fuzzy forecast are studied respectively. And their applications in product design are also discussed.At last, the author presents the fuzzy evaluation methods of product warranty schemes considering the facts of market.
