The level of intellectual property protection and management in the field of medicine and health in Anhui Province has a bearing on the speed development and sustainable innovation ability of Anhui medicine and health undertakings as well as on the exuberance of science and technology and economy in the province. As the protection and management of intellectual property in the field of medicine and health in Anhui Province is the sub-system of intellectual property protection and management in the whole province, an investigation is conducted among some universities, research institutions and enterprises in order to understand the actual situation of intellectual property protection and management in the medicine and health field in Anhui Province, which mainly includes the degree of awareness of intellectual property protection, publicity of related rules and laws, amount of patent, applications, losses of intellectual property and management system construction, etc.. The investigation indicates that, most researchers and administrative personnel have a perceptual knowledge about intellectual property, understand intellectual property law more or less and have a strong desire for seeking its protection. On the other hand, some prominent problems have been discovered with regard to intellectual property protection and management: 1. Most people show a lack of the thorough knowledge of intellectual property law and are not aware of the importance of protecting intellectual property. 2. There exists a common phenomenon of attaching more attention to scientific research findings and articles than to patents. 3. Administrative institutions' construction of intellectual property is hysteretic. 4. Disputes on intellectual property occur frequently and problems of the losses of intellectual property and infringements of intellectual propertyof service invention are severe.In dealing with these problems and in the light of the innovation of science and technology in the medicine and health field, developments of related disciplines and the demand of medical pattern transformation, the following solutions are provided with regard to the intellectual property protection and management in the medicine and health field: 1. The publicity, education and training of intellectual property laws and rules in the medicine and health field need to be strengthened so as to increase people's awareness of protecting intellectual property. 2. The construction of intellectual property administrative organization in the medicine and health field needs to be improved and the administrative system be perfected so that the intellectual property work could be conducted in a scientific, systematic and legal way. 3.The traditional evaluation system of scientific production should be improved so that the patents could be put under the management of scientific findings, which will strengthen the patent protection. 4.
