| Farmland is not only the most important factor of agricultural production, but also an indispensable living condition for human being, especially significant for our country. For effective management and rational utilization of farmland, both quantity and quality of farmland require to be surveyed. And farmland Classification is one of the best measures.Although theories & practices on land classification originate from farmland appraisal and presently some exploratory researches in farmland appraisal are carried out with experiences being accumulated, the theoretic research on Farmland Classification is superficial compared with urban land appraisal. The fact is that comparatively perfect appraisal and method system are not established, actual applications are at an attempted stage, and the method of Farmland Classification is simplex. Therefore, the paper discusses the theory & technique of Standard Plot Method in farmland classification. And further, as an example of Daqiao Town in Jiangdu City, Standard Plot Method is applied in farmland classification.The first chapter mainly expounds research background and significance of farmland classification, summarizes research situation of both farmland classification and Standard Plot Method home and abroad, and introduces research methods, research contents, data sources, possible innovation and shortage.In the second chapter, some conceptions concerned with farmland classification are defined firstly. Secondly, basic theories and principles of farmland classification are presented, such as land rent theory, location theory , natural condition appropriateness theory and homogeneous region & analogical substitute principles. Finally, the technical routine of farmland classification by Standard Plot Method is introduced.In the third chapter, the technical routine of Standard Plot Method consisting ofspecific method at any stage, matters needing attention and author's proposals etc. is expounded in detail. The author adopts Kriging Method to calculate comprehensive index and several methods to define the rank such as fuzzy cluster method, equidistance method, total score curve method and shortest distance appraisal method etc..In the fourth chapter, a positive analysis is made. As a case of farmland classification at Daqiao Town in Jiangdu City, the author makes a positive research into Standard Plot Method by the opportunity of the second county farmland classification and appraisal in Jiangsu province. The result is that irrigated field and non- irrigated field at Daqiao Town in Jiangdu City is divided into five ranks and four ranks respectively, according to technical routes mentioned in Chapter three. The fifth chapter shows this paper's main conclusions and author's proposals.In short, the results of this research are not only of help to the local government in the process of land management, but also enrich the method of farmland classification and make Standard Plot Method more perfect, so this method can be widely used in the future. |
