A Strategy Management Planning Of Shanghai Airports (Authority) Limited Corporation

With the guidance of modern corporation strategy management theory, the author analyzed and researched external environment and internal situation of Shanghai Airport Authority (SAA). This paper applied the EFE matrix, IFE matrix and SWTO matrix to evaluate the present condition of Shanghai Airport Authority. As a result, the optimum opportunity of SAA is the supports from government, the largest threat is the risk of foreign exchange variation, the most important advantage is its advantageous geographical place, the biggest weakness is influent business flow. Furthermore, the writer worked out the overall strategic model including blueprint of the important major business and secondary business. Finally, in the part of strategic choice and analysis, on the basis of scientific assessment of the international trends of airport construction, the author chose the strategic pattern of "one city, two airports" and " the management structure" and determined the best plan. The writer made a probing study to the development of Shanghai Airports Authority, which was based on "the tenth five years' plan" of Chinese Central Government and Shanghai Authority and a survey of SAA. It has practical significance for SAA to fulfill its 2005 strategic objective. Also it made a probe to external development of SAA.
