Look back the history of the world telecom industry, the telecom industry have been making a lot of reforms, breaking monopoly, releasing or loosing supervision, liberalization and privatization. There are six telecom operators in Chinese telecom market. It forms a competitive and cooperative situation between different scale, operation and possession operators. With the market in developed countries been saturated, some telecom magnates begin to take their eyes toward world market. All the telecom operators focus on china for it largest market. The competitions in Chinese telecom market become more and more intense. To improve competitiveness is an urgent and practical issue for Chinese telecom operators because they will face more brutal competitions. The aim of my research is to find the disparities between Chinese telecom operators and foreign telecom magnates, analyze the causations, and discuss how to create and improve our telecom operators' competitiveness. In the article, I used theoretic and empirical analysis. Apply company competitiveness theory to explain telecom operators' competitiveness. In the part of theoretic analysis, the article presents the meaning and the deciding factors of competitiveness, and set up an index system to evaluate telecom operator's competitiveness. In the part of empirical analysis, the article selects ten telecom operators as the objects of research. They are China Telecom, China Mobile, China Unicom, Chunghwa Telecom, AT&T, AT&T wireless, Verizon Communication, Vodafone, and NTT respectively. The article gets total and detail placing of company competitiveness after the processes of gathering data, standardization and endowing with weight. The analysis shows that Chinese telecom operators have superiority as well as weakness comparing with foreign telecom magnates. Under the trend of globalization, our companies are facing opportunity as well as threaten. According to the SWOT analysis of our telecom operators, I present three stratagems and five tactics for our companies' sustainable development. |
