This thesis has analyzed the influence on and requirements of TVU education of accounting with the development of knowledge-based economy and instructional technology, from different aspects of students, teachers and instruction, based on questionnaire and sample survey. It reveals the status and problems of TVU instruction of accounting and shows that TVU instruction must be innovated and modernized to meet new situations. The quality of teachers should be improved, and the focus of instruction should be on quality education of the student so that more qualified students can be produced. The thesis is divided into the following parts:I. Knowledge-based economy and the development of instructional technology bring forth new requirements of the students majoring in accounting, for which new tactics is needed.The age of knowledge-based economy is an era of learning. Students have to manage and control their self-learning and be active learners. At the same time, they can choose their learning models alternatively with the help of the modern media of instructional technology.II. TVU instruction of accounting can be modernized in the age of knowledge-based economy with the development of instructional technology.With the development of knowledge-based economy and the utilization of computer network in distant education, the concept, contents and means of instruction will be greatly affected. It will be essential to study the curriculum, educational contents, teaching methods, remedial instruction, experiments and self-learning under the new environment of computer network so that educational reforms can be carried out to improve the comprehensive and creative qualities of the students.III. The development of knowledge-based economy and instructional technology brings forth new requirements of the teachers engaging in accounting instruction.Teachers have met new challenges, in their qualifications, raised by the development of knowledge-based economy and instructional technology. As participators of the distant-education institution, they should be aware of and master the modern instructional technology and improve their knowledge and abilities in various fields. They should also have creative qualities to meet the demand of the educational reform of accounting so as to catch up with the new era.
