The western system of self-government has a very long history and profound rationale.it is the basic part of western democratic political system of which the basic characteristic is the separation of powers between the central and the local authorities. The central authority relies mainly on indirect supervision to the local authorities; The local authorities produced by local people's vote have a comparatively perfect system to ensure local people's management to local affairs.China's villagers' self-government system has a short history and its theory and system are relatively immature and imperfect; There's no clear-cut separation of powers between the villagers' organ of self-government and the local government which still controls the villagers' committee; There's no definite relationship between the villagers' committee and the Party branch of village.the natural leadship of the Party branch and the system of villagers' self-government are not in harmony; The system of villagers' supervision to the villagers'committee and villagers' management to the village affairs is not very perfect. The good example of western system of local self-government should be followed to improve China's villagers' self-government system..
