The purpose of this research was to examine the factors that affected the use of information technology in selected human resource functions in selected companies in Bangkok Thailand. This thesis employs a questionnaire which was administered to human resource personnel in Bangkok' companies. A total of 600 questionnaires were distributed and 388 were returned, thus giving a response rate of 64.67 %.The results indicated that there are no differences both in selected human resource functions and type of companies to the use of information technology. Then, there are differences between computer back ground experience and age to the use of information technology. Moreover, there are strongly positive correlations between perception of quality in the use of information technology in human resource functions. This thesis recommends that companies develop more on-line application processing, more human resource applications, and increase the ease of use. Secondly, the thesis recommends that various forms of user support, such as in-house training, support, and good documentation, as well as a specialized Human Resource Information System (HRIS) unit, are also required. Lastly, this thesis recommends that management must get users actively involved in the development of analysis, design, and implementation of the HRIS.
