Retailing business, as the important link between production and consumption, is one of the most important industries of our national economy. Retailing business has developed very fast both on the scope and category. The competition of retailing business is quite furious, modern retailing companies challenging the traditional, foreign capital and joint venture challenging the state owned. Competition on product, price and service arises consequently. Undoubtedly, the retailers have a prosperous future while facing the unprecedented difficulties. It asks the retailers to promote own operation ability, building retailer brand and provide the customers with better over-all service.Following the first launch of shuttle bus in Nov. 1999, more than 60 hypermarkets have provided shuttle bus service to their customers. Besides that, many hypermarkets in Beijing, Qingdao, Chongqing have provided shuttle bus to widen the catchments and attract more customers to increase turnover. But there have not been any systematic analysis on the key factors affecting the performance, such as the stop point, route, schedule, bus quantity, let alone the operation procedure. As a result, many problems concerning the shuttle bus have arosen.Author of this paper applied demonstrational way to analyze theshuttle bus project of GH store. By applying knowledge on strategy, operational research, marketing, service management and so on, the author develops a scientific and feasible operation procedure to handle such kind of project.There are five parts in this article. The first part deals with the history and development of Chinese retailing business. The second part introduces the present situation of domestic shuttle bus. The third part raises the 4 major reasons to provide shuttle bus and analyses the creativeness and feasibility of this project. Under the guide of PDCA circle, the fourth part gives the answer to solve the problem of GH store shuttle bus. The last part is the modification and summary of this solution.Result of this research is instructive to the further consumption of shuttle bus project and set an example for others who want to provide such service.
