Research On The Events Of Implementing ERP In Small And Medium Size Enterprises

It?has?been?an?opportunity?and?a?challenge?for?the private enterprise since P.R. China entered into WTO officially. Everybody notices that there is a big gap between the traditional management system and contemporary management system. Therefore, finding an optimum management system is a critical factor for the most enterprise to be succeeded. It is well known that bringing in ERP system is not only an effective way, but also is a necessary technique in the economic development. The question is how to apply ERP management system in medium and small size enterprises still remains unsolved. There are many things needed to be taken into account since the process of applying a ERP system is very complicated. In this paper more efforts would concentrate on discussing the way and the principle of how to chose and apply the ERP system, and how to solve the problem when they occur. The common problem in the application process is also discussed deeply in the paper. There are five chapters in this paper. The general principle of ERP system and its application in the medium and small size enterprises in China are described in the first chapter. The second chapter is the main part of this paper, it describes the detailed ERP applying procedure and the factors an enterprise should consider when chose an ERP system. The third chapter analysis the main concern of a medium and small size enterprise when applying the ERP system. It points out that the enterprise should carefully learn their current conditions and chose the proper ERP system, which suit in the enterprise well, give their employees fully training, and implement the ERP system in phase. A medium size enterprise, which successfully applied ERP system in Shenzhen is demonstrated in the fourth chapter. In the final chapter the restriction of applying ERP system and what to do if it happens are studied.
